brilliance behind
a door conceals the light,
blinding,
bright,
what a sight inside,
beside myself,
the billions aligned.

star gazer.
sky watcher.
cloud chaser.
sun stalker.
always looking to you,
my fleeting fantasy,
the apple of my ever-batting eyes.
don’t run from me,
streaming through the darkness,
my shooting star,
i gaze as you go by.

how can you contain a star? this gigantic, fiery, radioactive, exploding ball of heat and light, too brilliant and powerful for anyone to ever put in a box. but in our daily reality, just tiny, distant specks of light in the sky, a box of stars becomes much easier to hold right in the palms of our hands.
